Course Information

Start/Finish Area - The start/finish area is located adjacent to our chalet. All of our loppet routes head up Metford Road from the start line. Upon return, all of the loppet routes will turn left from Larch Hills Road, travel through the start area past the chalet, continue for a short stretch of two way traffic, and then turn right to go around Marathon Loop and back onto the short, two way traffic section. Shortly after the traffic reverts to one direction, those finishing their course will turn right to cross the finish line while those doing 36km. will receive a lap time and continue onwards and to the left, back up Metford Road for a second lap. When you’ve crossed the finish line, return your lycra bib and receive your meal ticket to enjoy the hot lunch on the hill.

18 K - for ages 14 to 17 (Category B): Head up Metford Road, across Bilbo’s Bog and turn left onto Ermine Frolic. R10K - for all ages: This is the recreational entry point for the Loppet and allows the beginning skier to be on gentle terrain. Watch for the left turn at Jim’s Cutoff where you leave the main loppet route and turn onto Skytrail. Visit the aid station and then head straight up Skytrail to the North Hub where the track turns sharply right and becomes Larch Hills Road. Visit the Aid Station at Cec's Cabin, and then turn left onto Larch Lake Loop. Turn onto Panorama, being certain to stay under control on the steep downhill. Be careful as you turn left onto Baby Moonwalk and merge with both competitive and R18 skiers on the main loppet route. From this point, please follow the written directions for the 18 K route.
