Fresh Tracks

Monday, February 6, 2012, 8:00 am, Trail Report: Another beautiful sunny day in the Larch Hills is coming as I hear from Pauline and Bruce and you will soon see on the Webcam. Bruce is on the PB and is freshening up some of the Central Trails, although he is having trouble getting the pans to work properly, a continuing problem. Conditions were great on the Hill yesterday as I saw several people skiing down to South Canoe. It appears that it will be a short season on that side of the mountain as there is not too much snow until you get up a ways. You do need to walk the first 300 metres and now you will find some frozen lunmps from yesterday's skiers, sunshine, and dog walkers. If you want to look at a bit of it go down past Lakeview and go down as far as you feel comfortable. You can also admire the Junior Racer course set by Phil through the thistles on the Clearcut. A reminder about the LHNS Meeting this Tuesday evening 7:00 pm, downstairs in the Recreation Centre. Everyone welcome. The Lakeshore is also suitable for skiing , but do watch how far you go out. Lots of choices in the Shuswap!
